Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.   2. first period You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.   3. lesson proper You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.   4. faculty Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!   5. lunch break Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.   6. hooky One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.   7. detention What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.   8. p.e. Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.   9. home ec. Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!   10. lab work Frog dissections! Explosions!   11. school fair/festival Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?   12. theater Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?   13. library If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.   14. bully Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)   15. tutor You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.   16. clubs Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...   17. prom Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?   18. graduation Well, it was fun while it lasted. [Korra's stomach lurches uncomfortably when the bus hits the bump.]

I'm pretty sure it's not too far away... The game's only a town over. You don't get car sick, do you?

No way.

[Despite his attempt to play it cool, the face that he's making probably says otherwise. It's not his fault that long rides in a shaky bus make him a little bit woozy.]

There's no time for sickness! I've got to get my head in the game!

[Korra's a little hesitant, though. She could have sworn Bolin was a bit green for a moment there...]

You... wanna open a window or something?

No, no, I'm good.

[He stretches and sits upright a litte more, as if that's going to show that he's alright. Really, if he has to put his head between his knees to get it together, he's going to mark this down as the most uncool moment of his entire life.]

On my A-game. Ready to rock. No bus sickness whatsoever.

I'm heading to bed for tonight, will continue in the morning!

Are these guys good? I hear their girls' team's a pushover.

They're not bad. We had a scrimmage with them on our home fields and beat them 2-1.

[Yes! Talking about the game is good. It's helping him get his mind off of being sick, anyway.]

I'm hoping I can score a goal tonight.

[He can picture it now - straight into the net, he does a sweet victory move, the crowd goes wild! He's pretty sure that if he can get an opening, he can do it. Their goalie isn't all that great.]

[She thumps him affectionately on the back.]

Looks like I'm gonna be stuck in net the whole time... Our goalie wasn't in school today.

You're kidding.

[It's almost a pity that Korra won't be out on the field, but it doesn't shock him that she's getting put in the net. She's just as good of a goalie as she is... well, at every other position on the team.

He returns the affection with a friendly punch to the arm.]

I guess the other team just isn't going to score at all this game.

[A bit of a cocky smirk crosses her face.]

Yeah, as long as our strikers actually do their job, we should be all set.

I'm 110% sure that you'll win.

[As far as he's concerned, Korra is the best soccer player in the conference. And if for some reason they lose, it's definitely not going to be her fault.]

Too bad you can't goalie for us. A zero-goal guarantee would make this a walk in the park.

[She laughs at that.]

I dunno, think I could pass for one of you guys if I cut my hair?

[Goofing off, she rolls up her ponytail and hides it on the back of her head.]

No way. You'd still be too pretty to be on our team.

[He runs a hand through his hair (mostly) jokingly.]

There's only room for one gorgeous guy!

[Korra laughs out loud at that. Good ol' Bolin.]

I don't wanna take away your spotlight, then.

[He laughs along with her.]

But if I get benched for failing math, I give you full permission to take over as most beautiful player on the boys' team.

[Because yes, they're both beautiful people and he is not ashamed to acknowledge it.]

That's if your coach even lets me play with my grades.

[Goofing off is turning out to be the perfect way to pass the time on this bus ride.]

He'd be missing out if he didn't let you play!

[Joking around is definitely a better alternative to getting carsick, or the more regular occurrence of sitting around awkwardly while everyone else plays on their iPhones.]

You think if I wore a wig I could play on your team? It sounds like my GPA would be a little more accepted there.

[Korra snorts at that.]

I think those muscles are a little too... manly to pass for someone on the girls' team.

You mean these muscles?

[Of course he's going to flex, because he is just the dorkiest coolest guy on this bus. After he feels he's showed off enough, he sighs dramatically.]

Oh, jeez. I think they are a little too manly.

What a shame.

[She shrugs, playing along. Sure, Bo's a dork, but Korra isn't much better.]

Though, you could stand behind and flex while I'm in net. Their strikers won't stand a chance, they'll be so distracted.

You're a genius.

[He could be very nonchalant about it, too. The refs wouldn't even notice what he was really doing. He strikes a pose that doesn't do a bad job of showing off his arms.]

Gooooo Korra! [He poses again.] Great defense! [Aaaand one final flex...] We're #1!

Yup! That'll work. And hey, maybe if the ref's a girl, I'll get away with a trip or two...

[Not that they call on the keepers as hard as the rest of the players, but an opening's an opening.]

We'll call it the "Flex Play!" They'll never see it coming. You could even try it for my game, when I make the winning rush to the goal. Then I won't get a foul called on me for sure!

[If only this plan would actually work. He really could use a way out of fouls. He shouldn't be penalized for playing hard!]

I dunno, the way you bowl right through defense men, I'm not sure how distracting I could be.

A ref would have to be blind to ignore you!

[He pauses, then brings a hand up to his chin in thought.]

Though a lot of refs do make calls like they can't see anything.

[ohhhh, Bolin's got referee jokes!]

Well yeah, it's the high school league... It's like they hired Ms. Beifong's mom to call the games.

[Don't tell anyone she said that please don't tell anyone she said that she likes her bones nice and not-broken. The Dean of Students is freaking terrifying and definitely doesn't like Korra too much.]
