Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.   2. first period You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.   3. lesson proper You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.   4. faculty Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!   5. lunch break Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.   6. hooky One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.   7. detention What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.   8. p.e. Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.   9. home ec. Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!   10. lab work Frog dissections! Explosions!   11. school fair/festival Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?   12. theater Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?   13. library If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.   14. bully Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)   15. tutor You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.   16. clubs Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...   17. prom Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?   18. graduation Well, it was fun while it lasted. [Despite having a pretty tough past, Bolin is an all around nice and well-liked guy. He's put life on the streets behind him in favor of working his way up to being a star player on the soccer team. And maybe if he put as much effort into school as he did into sports, his grades might get the improvement that they need.]

[And here is your tutor, sir. He's one of the poorer students like yourself, living without parents with two other children who are not his siblings at all. Of that trio, it's this one that's always seen hard at work. At the school concession stand during lunch he sells sodas and candy, he delivers papers before school, and now after school he's tutoring]

Bolin, you missed tutoring yesterday.

Oh, man. I knew I was forgetting something.

[He didn't mean to skip, really. It's just that between making sure he had all his gear together and focusing on that night's scrimmage and planning out new tricks to teach Pabu, he kind of had a lot on his plate.

But no excuses, right? Mako's taught him better than that. Determined to set things right, he makes a decision.]

I won't miss the next one, promise! I'll even do the homework ahead of time!

I'll check over it with you. Just remember from now on, if your grades slip too far you won't be able to play anymore, right?

[He grimaces a little bit at the thought of being cut from the team just because his GPA isn't on par, but rebounds quickly.]

My grades won't be slipping from here on out, no sir!

[Seto puts a hand on Bolin's shoulder and nods]

Good to hear! I'll do my best to support you. Hopefully between the two of us, it will be enough.

With your help, it'll definitely be enough. [Caught up in the enthusiasm, Bolin gives him a friendly punch to the shoulder in return.] And if you need help with anything, you've gotta let me know.

[He may not be school-smart, but Bolin knows he can be handy in some other ways.]

Let me play with Pabu. He's so cute! I'm jealous of you having such a cute pet. I wish our apartment had more room so we could keep pets. Although even if we could the pet fee is a bit steep as well.

We had morning practice today, so I'll be home right after school.

It must be tiring though, starting your day with so much exercise.

It's alright. I don't mind the workout.

[Chocola Meilleure was the daughter of the famous politician Cinnamon Meilleure that had disappeared years ago. Leaving Chocola to live with her grandfather. Despite that people thought that she was depressed and lonely with a background like that, she wasn't. No she was upbeat and happy, told her mind and loved sports and what most other girls saw as scary. Show her a spider and she would pet it, poisonous or not. Stuff a living frog in her locker and she would bring it home as a pet. That one had happened last term. The thing that tended to irritate her the most was noisy and shallow persons. They really got on her nerves and she often got on theirs. Why she right now was in the middle of a group bullies that was mocking her. She in turn tried to hold back the impulse to just kick their asses. She had already gotten detention for that once and she sure would like to avoid it again.]

[Korra has hardly been a good influence as far as grades are concerned. She's a pretty big star of the soccer team, too. And right now, she's stepping onto the bus that's taking the girls' and boys' teams out of town for a game.]

Hey, Bo!

[She tosses her equipment bag in the pile at the back of the bus.]

Mind if I sit? [She nods to the empty seat beside Bolin.]

[He gestures openly to the seat with a smile. There's no way he'd turn down sitting next to her. In addition to being his friend and the star of the team, she's got a great energy that gets him totally pumped up.]

This seat's all yours. You ready for this game?

I think so!

[She plops down next to him.]

Still a little sore from the other day, though. Those morning workouts are a killer.

Sore doesn't even begin to describe it. I was so tired that I didn't know if I would make it to class!

[Of course, he managed to drag himself there anyway. Nothing puts a damper on your day like getting benched for skipping math.]

[Korra gives a short laugh at that.]

Yeah, I hear the boys' coach is pretty strict about grades... Does he bench you if you skip?

He benches us if we skip, if we get a bad test grade, if our GPA gets too low... There's a whole set of rules.

[He almost groans just at the thought of all of them.]

Is the girls' coach any nicer?

That's rough... the girls' coach is usually pretty easygoing, but she's been at me these past few weeks about my History grade.

[Which isn't her fault! History's boring! And perfect for catching up on sleep.]

I'm doing okay in history, but math has me fearing for my starting position every time we get stuff handed back.

[He tries in math, really. It was all fine until there seemed to be more symbols and letters and diagrams than actual numbers. After that, math class turned into Struggle City, Population: Bolin.]

Yeah, I'll admit I'm not doing so great in math, either.

[She peers around Bolin and out the window as the bus starts to move.]

Did you hear about tomorrow's chem lab, though? I hear we're lighting stuff on fire!

[Always a plus. Even if they have to use those dorky goggles and gloves and aprons.]

[No matter the dorkiness, if the safety dog poster says he needs to wear goggles, you can bet he's going to wear goggles.]

Really? I knew learning about combustion would be worth it eventually!

[The bus hits a speedbump and Bolin gets a friendly reminder that he needs to plant himself into his seat a little bit better. Such are the joys of being on the sports bus.]

Please tell me the field we're headed to isn't far away.

[Korra's stomach lurches uncomfortably when the bus hits the bump.]

I'm pretty sure it's not too far away... The game's only a town over. You don't get car sick, do you?
