1. first day

Catch up with old friends, brave new teachers, fight your way through the sea of students, and hope you're in the right classroom. Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.

2. first period

You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.

3. lesson proper

You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.

4. faculty

Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!

5. lunch break

Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.

6. hooky

One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.

7. detention

What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.

8. p.e.

Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.

9. home ec.

Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!

10. lab work

Frog dissections! Explosions!

11. school fair/festival

Every school has one of these. What's your class doing this year?

12. theater

Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?

13. library

If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.

14. bully

Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)

15. tutor

You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.

16. clubs

Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...

17. prom

Do you have a dress? A date? Who are you voting for prom king? Is being on prom committee is driving you crazy? Do you even care?

18. graduation

Well, it was fun while it lasted. It's time to say those last words, settle those scores and get ready to grow up.

[ There he is. The leader of the well known SOS brigade sitting right across from her. Though he didn't seem to be looking at her, not that she could blame him. She was just doing her job when she tried to keep them in line, but she never had any ill feelings toward any of them. She just wanted to keep the school running smoothly.

She cleared her throat a little. Perhaps this was fate giving her a chance to befriend Haruki. It might be tough, but she was willing to try anyway. ]

Haruki... it's a surprise to see you sitting here.

Oh, I didn't see you there, President.

[No, he did. But he turns now to fix a glare at her as he leans his elbows onto the table and generally tries to look as surly as he can in this exact moment. It's part of their rivalry!! Emnity!!

But yeah]

[ She gives him an awkward smile. Well this is starting off swimmingly.]

How... has your day been? Good I hope?

It's been fine. [He says this curtly! Because he can't just ... get along with her! Or anything!

He should try to be a little polite though] And you?

[ She frowns a little. She knows that he felt negatively toward her, but there had to be something she could do to make it not so severe right? Think Yue, Think. ]

Oh, I'm doing alright. It's been a rather busy today, wouldn't you say?

Of course it has. [And he sighs, getting caught up in the conversation and looking around the busy lunch room. There's people everywhere, and more than half of them are more interested in something other than school if you were to ask him. Hell, two of his classes where interrupted for elaborate methods of asking a girl to a dance. Not that he would mind if they were interesting, but it's the same formula-based thing]

Everyone's been infected.

It's a nice way for them all to unwind after all the tests, but... it has been a little more disruptive than it should have been.

[And now he turns back. He does his best to sound bored as he asks-] What, you're getting asked to it all the time, or you're just complaining people aren't into their studies?

Actually no one has asked me. [ And if they did she didn't realize they were asking her and wished them good luck. ]

But it is a little worrisome that a dance like this could get them forgetting all about school.

[He's actually mildly surprised at that, and files it away as something to think about later. For now, he just leans on his elbows and sighs] It's because they've been infected, infected! Love's a mental illness, you know, and even if all these stooges haven't actually fallen in love, it's on their minds when they ask someone out here. Either that or they're just following their urges.

For someone who enjoys chaos, I thought this would be something fun for you. [ She gives Haruki a teasing smile. ]

I enjoy things being fun, or interesting! Things have to reject the status quo! [He rolls his eyes at this, because of course this is obvious. He even points with a fork to emphasize the point, now he picked it up] Something like this, is the status quo.

If that's how you feel, then why not make it into something of your own? You're usually good at that.

[The fork droops a bit, as he looks at her quizzically for a moment]

[And then he starts to smirk a little]

Are you encouraging me to mess up these love-addled people's dance by giving them something which'll actually liven up their lives?

I'm not encouraging you to mess up the dance, but perhaps you could liven it up with your own little twist.

[ She might try to make things less outrageous when it comes to Haruki's club, but she won't deny even she's found some of their ideas to be... a little fun. ]

[This is unbelievable - or well, it is in his mind - that the President is encouraging him. Shouldn't she be shooting him down? Or telling him to have the SOS-Brigade back off? Or trying to disband them as punishment for some random infringement?

...Or so it would go in his cliched world mind. But. Instead, he looks incredulous a moment, and starts messing his fork around his plate, though he doesn't pick up anything to eat yet]

Huh, livening it up with a twist... that's a tall order as long as it's something like this...

Well if you don't think you or your friends are up to it...

[...!] I never said we weren't up to it! In fact, I'm going to take that as a challenge, President!

[ She can't help but laugh a little. She hides it behind her hand though. ]

I see you look a little more energetic now.

Of course I do! And you better show up to it too, right? I can't afford for you to miss the show!

[He says this while tapping a fist perhaps a bit more forcefully than was necessary on the table, which makes some other people at other ends of the table frown lightly. After all this conversation they were overhearing was. Well. absurd to begin with]

[ She jumped a little at his fist pounding and gives him a little smile. ]

I certainly can't miss it. I'm the only encouraging it after all.

How do I know I can take your word for that?

What kind of proof do you need?

[He thinks for a moment. Collateral? That seems the most logical. But he's not some manga punk, it's not like he can ask her for anything precious. So finally, it comes to him]

Oh, I've got it. Go as my "date." If we register for a photo then you'll have to show up.
